September Retreat 2021

September Retreat 2021

$1,850.00

The goal of this sixteen hour, 2.5 day retreat is to offer our storytellers creative self-care, spiritual nourishment and peace + quiet to radically dive into the spookiest parts of their past. We’ll begin each day with a seated breakfast and tiny story-hour, followed by creative visualizations, brief technical lessons + lots of free time to curl up in a cozy spot and write your ass off for hours at a stretch. The goal is to power down, put pen to paper and rigorously mine your imagination in a safe + sacred space. Through generative exercises, group sharing, deep discussions and healthy meals, you’ll begin to abandon inhibition, explore memories, embrace your style and become comfortable with creative discomfort. There will also be time to snack, lounge, hang, wander the neighborhood, read, connect with new + old friends and explore Brooklyn away from the rigamarole of everyday life and have a one-on-one creative ideation session with storytelling spirit guide Molly Rosen Guy. Prepare to go deep. Breakfast and lunch included both days, lodging not included.

WRITING EXCERPTS FROM BWC-ERS

"The BWC retreat in Bed-Stuy this past weekend was the perfect creative antidote to Covid isolation. We did a deep dive into our memories, got to the heart of our stories, and shared our work in daily readings. I left feeling seen, deeply heard, validated in my writing craft, but also affirmed in the truth that the story I’m crafting matters. But also and perhaps more importantly being with other creative women, who were so willing to go deep and share radical vulnerability, brought me home. When women come together to create, we are unstoppable."
