Are you stuck in the cosmic muck of your Saturn Return, of new sobriety, new motherhood, new marriage-hood, fresh grief, fresh grace, madness, sadness, metamorphosis? Welcome to "Gold, Ghosts + Guts", a 5-week Nonfiction Writing Workshop starting Feb. the week of Feb. 25th In Brooklyn for foxes in flux who want to put pen to paper and do some rigorous free radical deep diving into the recesses of their imagination and ask themselves: “who am I”, “"where did I come from", "what/who has broken my heart” and "how can I alchemize my memories to create the Greatest Stories Ever Told". Through writing exercises, workshops and experimental prompts, you'll start to abandon artistic inhibition, become comfortable with creative discomfort, and — most importantly — identify your authentic voice and embrace your unapologetic personal style. Outside of class you will be required to read/listen to essays, TED talks, podcasts and poems by Mary Gaitskill, Maya Angelou, Hannah Gadsby, Amy Hempel, Toni Morrison and more, write at least 5 pages a week and comment on other student work.
